Overview

Commercial project estimators are responsible for bidding projects and developing customer relationships. They manage activities and tasks, coordinating internal stakeholders with the external customer. The estimator is responsible for delivering the client a superior product, on time, and better than their expectations.

  • Create project bids and catalogue all bidding information
  • Assist as necessary to manage projects through completion - for our scope of work
  • Submit and track all records of Requests for Information (RFIs), Change Orders, Costing
  • Consult with customers, engineers, architects and builders
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings and site visits as necessary
  • Estimate, review and approve job costing
  • Use takeoff software to compile complete list of products required for bid and manufacturing
  • Manage multiple projects along with ongoing projects
  • Develop and maintain good client relationships
  • Develop new business relationships
  • Prepare/update project status reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Construction and/or manufacturing fabrication background required
  • Experience with reading architectural plans or blueprints
  • Outstanding organization and time management skills
  • Possess exceptional sales and customer service skills
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing

Corporate Trainer – Sumner, WA

The corporate trainer is responsible for helping the company develop, maintain and train standardized work across all departments and locations. This position is a vital business partner who is passionate about training & committed to excellence while ensuring manufacturing, technical and support personnel are properly trained in their roles. The role is the point of contact for consulting on curriculum development for new or modified roles and cross-department training projects. The training coordinator is a role model in the organization, understanding and promoting AS&D mindset and behaviors that drive a quality culture.

Purchasing Specialist

The purchasing specialist is generally responsible for buying, negotiating contracts, and shopping for the best available prices. This position works closely with manufacturing to maintain adequate inventory for critical materials. Fundamental knowledge of MRP/ERP system is necessary and will use demand planning software to order long-lead time and short-lead time items.

Estimator and Sales Representative – Oregon and Washington

AS&D manufactures and distributes aluminum railing, stainless-steel hardware, and patio cover products for the construction industry. The estimator role is responsible for working with our dealer network to determine project costs for their field assembly jobs. The purpose of the role is to help our customers price, source and design beautiful projects for their client’s homes. This is a full-time position. No commissions or high-pressure sales.
