The Danforth | Seattle, WA
Located at the bustling intersection of First Hill, Capitol Hill, and Seattle University, The Danforth is an iconic high-rise that stands as a testament to contemporary urban design. With nearly 2,000 linear feet of AS&D Aluminum Railings and 150 linear feet of custom-fabricated Divider Screens, this stunning structure exemplifies how durable, functional, and stylish architectural elements can transform a modern building.
Each floor of The Danforth is adorned with AS&D’s Flat Top TR200 Railing System, featuring a blend of traditional and contemporary design elements. The Flat Top TR200 railing is the ideal choice for high-rise buildings, combining elegance, safety, and durability. The system includes classic picket infill, custom-colored glass, and flat aluminum panels that provide a seamless visual flow while complementing the building's modern aesthetic.
The TR200 railing system's sleek, low-profile design ensures that it complements The Danforth’s luxurious exterior while offering maximum protection. The picket infill is both aesthetic and functional, adding privacy and security without obstructing the breathtaking views of the surrounding urban landscape.
The custom color finishes applied to the aluminum components provide a perfect match to the building’s design palette, making the commercial railings an integral part of the overall architectural vision. By using AS&D Aluminum Railings, The Danforth ensures that the building is not only structurally secure but also visually striking, enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
Adding to the project’s design sophistication are the custom aluminum divider screens, also provided by AS&D. These screens are carefully designed and fabricated to offer additional privacy while maintaining an open, airy feel throughout the building. Positioned on balconies and rooftop areas, the custom divider screens provide a sense of separation without sacrificing light or airflow.
The aluminum divider screens not only act as functional barriers between spaces but also serve as visual focal points, helping to enhance the overall aesthetic of the building. By using custom fabrications tailored to the specific needs of the project, AS&D was able to deliver solutions that meet both the design vision and privacy requirements for The Danforth.
The Flat Top TR200 railing system was also installed in The Danforth’s rooftop garden, where it helps define the urban lawn space and provide 360° views of the surrounding Seattle skyline. By offering an unobstructed view while still ensuring safety and protection, the TR200 railing is an ideal choice for high-rise rooftop environments, creating a stylish and secure outdoor space for residents to relax and enjoy.
