Perfectly situated on Block 20 at The Waterfront Vancouver, in Vancouver, WA, the Columbia building boasts seven stories and 248 units. 161 of those units were outfitted with American Structures and Design (AS&D) standard balconies and 70 units are accented with AS&D Juliet balconies.

Both balcony systems used AS&D Flat Top TR200 railings along with cable infill and fascia mount posts, giving secure protection without disrupting the lovely riverside view.

Ideally situated in the heart of uptown Seattle, the newly constructed Alexan 100 is generously adorned with over 1,000 lin. ft. of AS&D Aluminum Railing, as well as 68 Balcony Systems across five different stories.

Designed to serve the discerning residents of the Queen Anne neighborhood, the balconies at the Alexan 100 are powder coated with a modern brown finish, offering a stylish sanctuary with views of the Seattle skyline. With an unmatched fabrication process that produces a durable and uniform product, AS&D’s Aluminum Balconies also provided a turnkey solution at a competitive price point—with minimal maintenance for property managers for years to come. The Alexan 100 also features Flat Top TR200 Railing with a unique picket and mid-rail infill combination that balances the building’s modern architectural details.

Sitting at the busy convergence of First Hill, Capitol Hill, and Seattle University, the Danforth is a stately high-rise adorned with nearly 2,000 lin. ft. of AS&D Aluminum Railings and 150 lin. ft. of custom-fabricated Divider Screens.

Each floor features AS&D’s sturdy Flat Top TR200 Railing with a classic picket, custom colored glass and flat aluminum panel infill and a clean custom color finish that complements the building’s exterior design. Finishing off the outdoor living spaces are custom aluminum divider screens designed and manufactured by AS&D exclusively for the project.

The use of a traditional picket infill was deliberate; it’s safety and durability didn’t interfere with the Danforth’s modern design, and yet it still created a sequestered area with necessary protection and privacy. This combination of Flat Top TR200 railing and picket infill was used on the balconies and the system was also installed on the Danforth’s rooftop area with spectacular 360° views, to section-off the urban lawn space.

With the Danforth winning second place for the NAIOP’s 2019 High Rise of the Year Award, AS&D Aluminum Railing Systems and custom Divider Screens prove they offer the necessary design elements to enhance any project – no matter the size or scope.

The condos at The Springs at Lake Oswego are accented with AS&D’s low maintenance aluminum balcony systems and railings.

Todd Construction worked closely with AS&D’s engineering team who were able to meet the complex balcony requirements, without compromising the overall design intent.

The team designed the largest prefabricated balconies in company history, which included privacy divider walls incorporated into the balcony frame. AS&D also supplied custom sag rod brackets to meet the slanted wall conditions.

AS&D is continuously innovating new ways to make larger and more advanced balconies to meet today's dynamic building requirements.
